The subtle enchantment of this rose gold makeup look is inspired by the actress Allison Williams from HBO's series Girls, who embodies natural beauty mixed with a little glam. The rose gold eye together with natural lips and skin is wearable for women of all different styles and ages, and a versatile look for day or evening, as it can be soft or bold depending on color choice. Follow these steps from ReVive! Salon's Victoria Harring and see for yourself!
PREP
Cleanse skin with daily facial cleanser. Follow with a light toner and moisturizer.
Apply a skin primer using fingertips or hands.
Apply foundation with a brush and blend with a beauty blender or sponge.
Apply concealer underneath eyes up to lower lash line and on any discolored spots or blemishes.
CONTOUR
Using a foundation a shade or two darker than skin tone, apply a thin line around hairline, jawline, under cheekbones and on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Blend in with fingers using small circular motions.
HIGHLIGHT
Using a concealer a shade or lighter than skin tone, or a highlighting stick or powder, apply between eyebrows, down the center of the nose, above the lip, middle of the chin, and on the tops of the cheekbones. Blend in with fingers or brush in circular motions.
Using a large makeup brush, set with a light layer of translucent powder. Harrington used MAC Set Powder in "Invisible" ($30).
EYES
Comb brows with eyebrow brush. Powder shadow will give volume to eyebrows, while pencil will give definition. Choose brow powder in a shade that is the same as your hair color or a shade darker. Use an angled brush to feather into eyebrow and fill any sparse areas.
Highlight brow bone with concealer.
Using a small brush, apply eye shadow primer like MAC Paints in "Bare Canvas" ($20) from upper lash line to brow bone.
Apply a medium-toned shimmery rose shadow like MAC Eye Shadow in "Expensive Pink" ($15) from lash line to crease.
Choose a bronze-pink a shade or two deeper than lid color, like MAC Eye Shadow "Star Violet" ($15). Apply from outer edge of lid, blending into crease.
Use a brush to blend colors and soften outer shadow line, blending upwards toward brow.
Use a light neutral shadow like MAC Eye Shadow in "Rice Paper" ($15) underneath brow bone and blend into crease and outer lid.
Use an iridescent or sparkly rose gold powder or cream on the inner eye to the middle of the upper lid, blending with a brush.
Line the bottom lash line with bronze-pink shadow used in the crease.
Use iridescent or sparkly rose gold powder or cream like MAC Pigments Colour Powder in “Melon” ($21) on the inner eye to middle of lower lash line.
Line upper lash line with brown eyeliner pencil like MAC Eye Pencil in "Coffee" ($16). Use an angled brush to spread and soften liner.
Hot Tip: Hold up eyelid at brow bone to get precision line at lashes.
Choose a brown or black-brown mascara like MAC Zoom Lash in "Lofty Brown" ($16) for added definition while maintaining a natural finish. Apply to upper lashes, lower lashes optional.
FINISH
Finish skin by applying a peachy blush to apples of cheeks outward toward hairline. Harring used MAC Powder Blush in "Mocha" ($21).
Choose a matte peachy pink lip color. Liner and gloss are optional.
