Earth Day is Monday, April 22, but several Lehigh Valley businesses are kicking off the festivities by hosting events this weekend. Join them in honoring our planet!
Earth Day at the Zoo
Head to the Lehigh Valley Zoo on Saturday, April 20 for an Earth Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sponsored by PPL, the event invites attendees to discover the impact of single-use plastic through fun and engaging games and activities. Stop by the Conservation Station to learn how to make a difference through recycling. Sample Bird Friendly Coffee and learn how you can brew a more biodiverse, sustainable world.
Earth Day Hike at Franklin Hill Vineyards
Several sessions are sold out, but there are still slots available to join Franklin Hill's Earth Day hike at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20. Join the vineyard manager and winemakers as they lead a hike through the vineyard and reveal Franklin Hill's earth-friendly practices. Enjoy three sip and snack stops along the way. Tickets are available for $20 and include a tasting glass and event tote bag.
L.L.Bean Earth Fest at Promenade Saucon Valley
Head to L.L.Bean's Center Valley location for an Earth Day Fest on Saturday, April 20. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy fun crafts and activities, learn how to make paracord keychains and plant marigold seeds in pots to take home. Stop by for some lemonade and bring your pups for a treat!
Earth Day in Nazareth
Join businesses like The Curious Plantaholic, Birthright Brewing Company, The Hive, Bella Bean Coffee Shop and more in Nazareth on Saturday, April 20. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., stop by participating businesses to collect seedlings and grow your own garden this year.
Plant Festival at Cedar Crest College
Gallivanting Greenhouse will be at Cedar Crest College on Wednesday, April 24. Weather permitting, the event will take place outdoors under a tent on Lee's Lawn. Gal will be stocked with houseplants, succulents, cacti, air plants and more. Attendees are invited to create their own terrariums with a DIY terrarium bar. Or, purchase a propagation station and recieve a free plant cutting! The fun runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
PreK Pathfinders: Habitat Heroes at Wayne Grube Park
Just in time for Earth Day, the Wildlands Conservancy is hosting a PreK Pathfinders event from 10–11 a.m. on Thursday, April 25. Designed for children ages 3–5 years old (and their grown-ups), the event features an interactive story walk that takes attendees on a journey through the forest to save their local wildlife. The event is free to attend.
