What makes a woman stylish?
We know it's many things and yet it's beyond her handbag, a well-turned ankle or the cut of her jacket. We can say after getting to know these women, that each has an engaging personality and spark all her own that provides the final touch to whatever she may be wearing.

Right now I am loving:
denim paired with everything: Spanish gauchos and embroidered pieces, Western meets Native American fringe and Middle Eastern-inspired pieces, like tassels and the Bohemian looks I am seeing in the stores.
I usually love the way:
Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lopez look when they are on the red carpet.
I never like wearing:
loose or unfeminine clothing, cardigans or anything long that is not belted.
My style for work is:
clean, yet stylishly sophisticated.
If I could attend one runway show at NY Fashion Week this fall it would be:
I have been to them all as a former personal shopper at Bergdorf Goodman, so I would venture to spy an up-and-coming designer's show.
The most exotic item in my closet is:
an authentic leopard stole I found in one of my antiquing sprees and a pair of python Manolo Blahnik t-strap pumps.
An item in my closet that I should probably throw out is:
nothing, I love everything in my closet!
Besides family and work, my passions include:
inspiring and empowering others to live beautifully and positively, vividly creating, fundraising, dancing, tennis, running, biking, swimming, kayaking and styling everything I touch, from fashion to food.
My best friend would describe me as:
“One of a kind, happy and positive, generous, caring, inspiring, fun, energetic, fashionable, savvy, creative, unstoppable, trusting and a big dreamer.”
My favorite accessory right now is my:
I have several; my denim Manolo Blahnik pumps, my reading glasses in many different patterns, my leopard pointy-toe flats, my Union Jack flag purse and, when at the gym, my gold earphones.
I grew up in the:
'70s when fashion was at an all-time fashion-forward glamorous high!
My favorite national fashion magazine/website/blog is:
W and Vogue Italia.

My last great shopping conquest was:
a glamorous Calvin Klein dress offered at one-third its regular price!
I usually love the way:
Nicole Kidman looks when she is on the red carpet.
My style for work is:
comfortable, appropriate and expressive of my personality.
If I could attend one runway show at NY Fashion Week this fall, it would be:
the Ralph Lauren show. I am definitely a proud American, but I was raised as a European lady in the ‘70s. I feel the style of Ralph Lauren enables me to express myself.
The most exotic item in my closet is:
a set of custom-made purses and shoes made in Africa—and I wear a lot of African designers, as well.
An item in my closet that I should probably throw out is:
a Wilson leather purse I have owned for over a decade, and still have a lot of sentiment for.
Besides family and work, my passions include:
spirituality, cooking and fashion. I am the co-founder of The Atlas of Style, theatlasofstyle.com.
My best friend would describe me as:
very humble and down to earth.
My favorite accessory right now is:
my tenth wedding anniversary gift from my husband: A blue Carlo Pazolini Italian purse.
I was born in the:
'70s to a reputable designer/seamstress mother when fashion was at its heights. So I naturally and quickly embraced that sense of fashion and style.
The first thing I usually buy for fall is:
a trench coat.
My favorite kind of guy wears clothes like:
my style hero Rudy Tankpinou, founder of The Atlas of Style.
My idea of a statement piece is:
an Icelandic necklace my husband gave me from our trip to Iceland. I see a statement piece as an interesting, attractive and relatively eye-catching wardrobe item that reflects your personality.

Right now I am loving:
the skirts I am seeing in the stores. A-line or pencil [skirts] usually seen as part of a suit are not all that work-appropriate any longer. Midi, wrap, asymmetric, flare and even a maxi work for me professionally as long as they are made from quality fabrics and I pair them with the right accessories. I wear skirts on the weekends, too, dressed down with a tee shirt, flats and a denim jacket.
When I see:
J.Crew is having a sale, I am all over it! I am pretty much a professional J.Crew shopper.
My last great shopping conquest was:
on zara.com, my newest obsession. It lasted over three days… I couldn't get enough! I also stock up on Kokoon before I travel. Their pieces have no buttons, zippers or snaps and everything comes out of my suitcase without a wrinkle. Voila!
My style for work is:
classic while blending in some trends. At a certain age, up-to-the-minute fashion can be risky, but I still like to have fun! Minis and cropped tops are definitely out, but I will wear a cropped sweater with a longer tee or Oxford underneath.
If I could attend one runway show at NY Fashion Week this fall it would be:
Michael Kors or a Top Shop show.
The most exotic item in my closet is:
a vintage silver satin ball gown that belongs to my boss, Ashley Russo. I'm hoping she forgets that I have it and I will earn squatter's rights!
An item in my closet that I should probably throw out is:
a faux fur collar with the tags still on—not sure what I was thinking.
Besides family and work, my passions include:
lazy Sunday mornings reading The New York Times, great shoes and red wine.
My best friend would describe me as:
funny, lighthearted and loyal.
My favorite accessory right now is:
my amber necklace given to me by a friend for my 50th birthday. It belonged to his mother who passed away a few years ago and, aside from being stunning in its own right, it makes me feel special every time I wear it.
I grew up in the ‘80s when fashion was:
trendy and ever-changing. I gravitated toward preppy: Izod shirts, madras shorts and Docksides, but admit that I sported big hair and occasionally wore Forenza and Outback Red (I actually worked for The Limited in the ‘80s!)
The first thing I usually buy for fall is:
a cozy sweater (I can never have enough sweaters).
My favorite national fashion magazine/website/blog is:
fashionista.com.
My idea of a statement piece is:
my chunky tortoise link necklace with a fabulous purple-jeweled elephant embellishment. It's from J.Crew and every time I wear it, I receive a compliment. I also love my silver kitten-heel pumps and my red wicker clutch—it's all about finding unique, stand-out pieces that fit your style and work to punch up any outfit from jeans and a tee to an LBD!

When I see:
Loft is having a sale, I am all over it!

flats or kitten heels.
I usually love the way:
Reese Witherspoon looks when she's on the red carpet.
My style for work is:
J.Crew with an edge!
If I could attend one runway show at NY Fashion Week this fall it would be:
the Michael Kors show.
The most exotic item in my closet is:
a beaded orange top from Popmart!
An item in my closet that I should probably throw out is:
my college party dress collection.
Besides family and work, my passions include:
adventurous trips with my friends, working out and my animals!
My best friend would describe me as:
bold, fun-loving and ambitious.
My favorite accessory right now is:
my oversized Michael Kors watch or my “Y” chain necklace.
I grew up in the:
‘00s when fashion was ready for an update.
The first thing I usually buy for fall is:
a cozy grey sweater and new booties!
My favorite national fashion magazine/website/blog is:
Cosmopolitan.

Adam Levine
My idea of a statement piece is:
my red Michael Kors bag and red lipstick.

Right now I am loving:
the mix and match of stitching and fabric I am seeing in stores.
When I see:
Nordstrom Rack is having a sale, I am all over it.
My last great shopping conquest was:
last week. I am always looking for unique items at any store.
I usually love the way:
Halle Berry looks when she in on the red carpet.
I never like wearing:
structured blouses or suits.
My style for work is:
business chic and with a little bit of edge when possible.
If I could attend one runway show at NY Fashion Week this fall it would be:
Calvin Klein or a Donna Karan show.
The most exotic items in my closet are:
my three pairs of L.A.M.B. shoes.
An item in my closet that I should probably throw out is:
an old pair of Z Cavaricci shorts.
Besides family and work, my passions include:
running, being with friends, being out on our boat and, of course, finding the most unique item at the best possible price, the ultimate thrill of the kill.
My best friend would describe me as:
funky, fun and fearless.
My favorite accessory right now is:
my new Sorelli ring.
I grew up in the '80s, when fashion was:
all about shoulder pads, huge, perfectly feathered hair and bright blue eye shadow.
The first thing I buy in the fall:
that perfect pair of jeans.
My favorite national fashion magazine/website/blog is:
Elle.
My idea of a statement piece is:
my choice of shoe.
