You may have heard about the new Chameleon Pop Up initiative happening in Downtown Allentown, but what exactly is it?
The initiative is basically open retail space located on the first floor of Three City Center that offers an outlet for businesses to rent or lease the space for an allotted period of time to sell their merchandise. Sounds cool, right? [You can read more about the particulars here.] But what we're even more excited about is that one of our nonprofit partners, The Perfect Fit, is the first to pop up in the space.
As you know, The Perfect Fit for Working Women is a local nonprofit, part of the YWCA Allentown, with a mission to empower women with limited incomes to enter the workforce with style and confidence by providing career clothing and job readiness skills training.
So how does this translate to a pop-up shopping experience for the general public? Ok, now that's the exciting news. The Perfect Fit is constantly receiving a variety of designer merchandise that may not necessarily fit into the “workwear” category that many of the women who benefit from their services are in need of. All of these designer duds (guys, we're talking Ann Taylor, J.Crew, Kate Spade, Tory Burch!) are now going to be for sale to the general public for a HUGE discount at the pop-up shop—we're talking prices as low as $5!
Here's the best part: Proceeds from the pop up go directly back into The Perfect Fit mission of helping women in the community—talk about a win-win!
The Perfect Fit Pop Up is set to open on September 15 with a special launch party featuring appetizers from The Dime and wine and beer from Cork & Cage.
In addition to the launch, make sure to mark your calendars for Monday, September 18 from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m., when the Lehigh Valley Style team will be on-site offering personal styling services, complimentary treats, and photo opportunities.
The Perfect Fit will be in the space until October 12 and will also be accepting donations of designer items, eveningwear and unique fashions to keep the shop stocked. It's the perfect place to unload those barely used (current style) Michael Kors, Banana Republic and Coach items you've had stashed in the back of your closet.
