Alex Scott was just four years old when she first announced her idea of hosting a lemonade stand in her front yard as a way to raise money to help fight childhood cancer. Encouraging the entire nation to join in on her mission to find a cure, Alex's project began to flourish from a makeshift stand into a nationwide fundraising organization and movement. Now the certified 501(c)3 charity, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, has raised over $100 million for childhood cancer and is funding more than 475 pediatric cancer research efforts. Years after that first stand in a Philly suburb, Alex Scott's endeavor continues to gain success and support from thousands across the US annually.
Show your support for the Foundation by using the hashtag #LemonadeDays, whether you host a stand, visit one, or encourage others to do so.
Every summer, the Foundation welcomes volunteers of all ages around the nation to carry on Alex's legacy and raise money for cancer by hosting their own front yard stand as a part of Alex's Lemonade Days, which will be held this year from Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 14.
