Unless you're committed to making single serve cheesecakes like My Sweet Lola did in our Sommelier Solution feature in the November issue, you will benefit from learning how to slice and plate a cheesecake for your next dinner party
Serving your perfect, beautiful dessert should be a piece of, well, you know!
Try these tips:
To make your cheesecake easy to remove, cut a circle of parchment paper the size of your springform pan. Lay it in the bottom of the pan and grease the sides of the pan only before making crust and pouring cheesecake batter in.
After chilling, slip a spatula or pancake turner between the pan and the parchment paper, to loosen it. Slide the cheesecake in one piece to another plate or tray!
When serving cheesecake, cut the pieces in advance. Cutting a cheesecake is generally a time-consuming project, as the knife must be washed after each slice to prevent unattractive build-up of cheesecake around the slices.)
