Opening Day & Dollar Dogs at Funk Brewing Company
The Philadelphia Phillies open against the Oakland A's this Friday, April 8, and Funk Brewing Company in Emmaus is inviting the community to come watch with them. Their doors will open an hour pre-game at 3 p.m. and Flavor Nation Food Truck is serving up the baseball classic, hot dogs for $1. Plus, all Citrus cans are $4 all day, in order to provide a truly nostalgic combination. It is first come first serve, so get there early to reserve your spot in front of the giant projector, but all TV's will be playing the game. No matter the outcome, there is no crying in baseball, or at the brewery.
Spring Floral Workshop at Folino Estate Winery
This Friday, April 8, from 6–8 p.m., Folino Estate Winery in Kutztown is ringing in the spring season with a floral arrangement workshop. Guests are invited to the vineyard to create unique, sweet-smelling creations just in time for the Easter holiday. The class is led by Patricia Johnson of Ornithea House of Flowers, and all materials, a glass of wine, light bites and a 10 percent off voucher are included with the purchase of a ticket. Be sure to bring a pair of gloves and clippers, as they will not be provided. Tickets can be purchased here for $85.
Emma Wilmann at SteelStacks
Get ready to laugh, because Emma Wilmann, stand-up comedian, actress and podcaster is making her way to Bethlehem this Friday, April 8. After appearances on Netflix's The Line Up, the CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and CBS's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Wilmann is adding a stand-up show at SteelStacks to her resume. The event begins at 8 p.m. and will contain adult language and situations. No children under the age of 12 will be permitted and those under seventeen must have a parent or guardian in attendance. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and seating will be assigned upon arrival. Tickets can be purchased here for $20.
Spring Barn Sale at Petersell 1808 Home
On Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9, Petersell 1808 Home in Center Valley is opening up its barn doors with a sale. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., guests can shop a curated collection of beautiful antiques, vintage items and out-of-the-ordinary pieces that the design team spent their winter collecting. If a revamp is in your home's future, head to the barn and shop for spring.
Brew to Brew 10K+ at Fegley's Allentown Brew Works
Calling all runners! Earn your beer at the Brew to Brew 10K+ is this Saturday, April 9. Beginning at 10 a.m., participants will race through the main streets of Allentown and Bethlehem from the Allentown Brew Works to the Bethlehem Brew Works. After crossing the finish line competitors can enjoy live music and beer at the Sun Inn Courtyard. Registration ends April 8, and can be found here for $55.
Sip & Shop at Easton Candle Company
This Saturday, April 9, Easton Candle Company is hosting its first ever sip-and-shop event in honor of launching a brand new, limited edition scent: Espresso Martini. Guests are invited to shop all the hand-poured home fragrances, while sipping on a complimentary espresso martini of their own. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the namesake beverage will be served all day.
Bethlehem Easter Egg Hunt at the Greater Valley YMCA
An Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza is happening this Saturday, April 9, in the field behind the Bethlehem Branch of the Greater Valley YMCA. All children 12 twelve can participate, and hunting and prizes will be separated by age group. The fun begins at 11 a.m. and registration will be held at the Welcome Center that morning. Festivities are free to YMCA members.
Quakertown Bridal Stroll in Downtown Quakertown
In the heart of Quakertown on Saturday, April 9, everyone is invited to enjoy a free walking bridal show featuring local shops, services and vendors eager to make every wedding day beautiful. Poetry Month Celebration at the IceHouse
In celebration of Poetry Month, Lehigh Valley Poetry and the IceHouse in Bethlehem are inviting the Valley's poets and poetry lovers to an open mic night. On Tuesday, April 12 from 7–10 p.m., everyone is welcome to channel their inner William Shakespeare, get on stage and share their favorite poem, piece of music or short story. Attendance is free and all are welcome.
