Bella’s Bistro was inspired by, and is named after, owner Kristine Shive’s beloved 14-year-old pitbull rescue. When Bella was diagnosed with early-onset kidney disease, Shive says she immediately went to work, learning everything she could about renal failure and how to manage it without veterinarian prescriptions. “I vowed to Bella that I would care for and love her unconditionally, starting with good nutrition,” she says. Now, locals can shop the same human-grade, nutrient-dense, whole superfoods Shive feeds her pup at Bella’s Bistro Pet Wellness & Dog Cafe in Easton, which opened in November 2021.
“All of the ingredients we use are used with a purpose and we want to show the power of healthy nutrition and the role it plays in preventing diseases,” says Shive. “Our promise is to treat your pets like family.”
What’s more, every ingredient and its packaging is chosen for minimal impact on the environment. “We also carry a full line of eco-friendly pet accessories, toys and wellness products,” Shive shares. “These vary from handmade sweaters to recycled water bottle toys.”
All dogs and cats are welcome to come by, enjoy a free sample and hang out for a while with their humans at the cafe.
