Top Food, Shopping and Experiences in the Lehigh Valley This Week
1. Pineapple Boat
Mmmm, how refreshing does a pineapple filled with seafood sound? A pineapple filled with tuna, salmon, lobster, crab and shrimp, to be precise. You’ll find this pineapple boat at Chopfin, a brand-new eatery opening this upcoming Monday, March 22 on Cedar Crest Boulevard in Allentown. With rolls and bowls in their name, you’ll find a variety of fresh sushi rolls as well as poke bowls such as Mad Tuna, which is made with spicy tuna, seaweed salad, avocado, cucumber, radish, masago and spicy mayo. Follow them on IG for the latest menu updates as well as a sneak peek into their super cool spot.
2. Plant Crawl
Everyone loves a good bar crawl, but have you ever been on a plant crawl? We recently found the Greater Lehigh Valley Plant Crawl and thought what a fun way to adapt a crawl event. This particular plant crawl is happening on Saturday, April 10 at six participating plant stores in the Valley, from Quakertown to Nazareth. If you visit all six shops, you’re entered to win a rare plant—you’re welcome to visit the shops in any order, with unique specials available at each location. Your $10 ticket includes your plant passport and a reusable tote bag. Extra raffle tickets are available for purchase for even more chances to score a rare plant. You can check out all of the info here.

3. Rail Bike Excursions
If you love exploring in nature, this is the perfect activity for you. The Colebrookdale Railroad just announced that they will be the first location in the region to offer rail bike excursions. A rail bike is basically a pedal powered bike on railroad tracks, so you’ll get to pedal along the tracks and enjoy nature as you go. Each bike sits four people and the journey is a total of six miles (about a two-hour journey) through the Secret Valley in Boyertown. There’s a brief stop along the way where you can take a rest or enjoy any snacks you’ve brought along before you turn the bikes around and head back to Boyertown Station. Colebrookdale Railroad notes this is the perfect social distancing activity with ample space between bikes, distanced picnic tables, disinfecting of bikes and mask wearing when departing bikes. The experience is $175/bike so split that between four people and you’re looking at around $44/person—not bad for an afternoon adventure, so get yourself signed up for a unique and different activity this spring.

4. Saylors & Co. Lunch Deal
We love Saylors & Co. Their gourmet prepared meals, Pizza Thursdays, homemade baked goods and of course their locally-sourced smoked meats are all at the top of our favorites list. As if we couldn’t love them more, they added their lunch deal to their menu. The Saylors & Co. lunch deal is offered at their Easton Public Market location and features a specialty sandwich of the week along with a pasta, potato or macaroni salad as a side and a mini cannoli as a dessert for only $10. This week’s lunch deal features a Turkey Rachel on Rye: Turkey, Swiss, Coleslaw, 1000 Island Dressing and includes a scoop of macaroni or potato salad and mini cannoli. We’re so in love with these meal deals that we’re constantly refreshing their webpage each week to see what the new weekly sandwich will be.
5. It Ain't Over Til It's Clover Cocktail
Hop on over to County Seat Spirits at Easton’s Silk Mill to grab this It Ain’t Over Til It’s Clover cocktail for their week-long St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Pop this smoke bubble at the top of the cocktail for some seriously cool drink vibes (and a serious shot for your food IG). We also recommend trying their Milk & Cereal cocktail as part of the celebration—it features Zero G vanilla vodka, vanilla almond milk, elderflower syrup, Clove Honey Simple and Fruity Pebble garnish. Isn’t drinking so much more fun with cool cocktails? We think so.
