Here at the magazine, we consider ourselves to be the Lehigh Valley’s biggest cheerleaders. With every edition we produce, we hope to enrich the lives of our readers with local recommendations, ranging from restaurants to retail and everything in between. It’s very rare that we suggest venturing outside of the region we call home, but this month, we’ve made a few exceptions…
On pg. 52, find 10 dining destinations that are 90 minutes or less from the corner of Broad and Main streets in Bethlehem. Intended for this season of festive holiday celebrations (and to hang on to for your bucket list in 2024), these spots are well worth the travel. Several of the featured restaurants have been recognized by The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia magazine, Wine Spectator magazine and The New York Times. Ranging from cozy cafes to upscale piano bars, there’s something for everybody here—but we’re breaking down why you’ll really want to go to every single one.
Don’t worry though, there’s no shortage of local eats in this edition. Read about the moussaka, one of the most famous dishes in Greek culture, at Yianni’s Taverna on pg. 72; make Cactus Blue Restaurant Chef Peter Sokolski’s Chicken Torta Milanese (the loaded chicken sandwich of your dreams!) on pg. 64; and plan your visit to Taste of Italy Ristorante in Hellertown on pg. 66.
Then we talk to Pat Rizzolino and Jean Carlos Falcon about their documentary Tradition: An Easton & Phillipsburg Story on pg. 38; we learn about navigating life with astrology’s guidance from astrologer Brielle Baker on pg. 29; and culinary enchantress Heidi Borelli shares her thoughts on living well on pg. 33.
