One of my favorite things about helping to produce this magazine is having the opportunity to work with so many local creators and getting to collaborate with them on the stories we share here. Our freelance team of writers, photographers and stylists are constantly dreaming up ways to elevate these pages. So while you can find their creative magic in every edition of Lehigh Valley Style, we’d like to introduce you to seven more makers in a feature dedicated to locals who have perfected their craft. Turn to pg. 38 to get to know a sculptor, a mixed media artist and educator, a live event painter, a boutique laser cutter and more.
Then, on pg. 33, hear from another local artist who has perfected her craft—Madison Reyes, star of the Netflix original series Julie and the Phantoms. Before landing this breakout role, Madison attended Allentown’s Arts Academy Charter Middle School and the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts. The 16-year-old living in Allentown talks life in the Valley, dreaming big, representation in media and more.
Finally, don’t miss happiness coach and reinvention strategist Jamie Watkins’s advice for falling in self-love. The creator of My Peace of Happy shares why gratitude, boundaries and trusting oneself is key on pg. 23.
