Conversations on the Canal Dinner Cruise – The Voyage of the Molly Polly Chunker
to
National Canal Museum 2750 Hugh Moore Park Rd., Easton, Pennsylvania 18042
National Canal Museum archivist, Martha Capwell Fox, narrates a 2-hour cruise on the Lehigh Canal that recalls the famous 1886 voyage of the canal boat Molly Polly Chunker, a converted canal scow that carried New York City photographer Louis Tiffany and several of his well-heeled friends on a two-week cruise on the Delaware and Lehigh Canals from Bristol to Mauch Chunk and back. A lengthy diary from the trip provides a historical background for the evening. Musician Dave Matsinko will play period music and Culinary Experts of Allentown will provide a dinner developed from diary menus.
