Diane Wittry's 25th Season Celebration- The Pines of Rome
to
Miller Allentown Symphony Hall 23 N 6th St, Allentown, Pennsylvania 18101
Time flies when you’re having fun… and making remarkable music. Music Director Diane Wittry has put together a blockbuster finale to the 2019-20 Classical Season- her 25th year with the ASO. More than a celebration of great orchestral music, this is a concert retrospective spanning 25 years of partnerships within the Lehigh Valley community, featuring: Irina Muresanu, the first winner (1997) of Allentown’s own Schadt String Competition, performing the prize-winning selection that launched her career, Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2; the Allentown Symphony Chorus; the renowned Allentown Band brass section and a Concertino (which was a World Premiere with the ASO) performed on an Allen organ, by Hector Olivera. Diane closes the festivities with The Pines of Rome – the same piece that wowed audiences when she first guest conducted the ASO.
