The dedicated volunteers of the Ecumenical Soup Kitchen have organized a fundraiser, the Fall Food Festival, on Saturday, September 28 at the Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley. They are inviting people from the Lehigh Valley to gather for an afternoon of food and fellowship to support the soup kitchen.
Food will be available from the Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley, St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Carrabba’s, Salad Works, Edible Arrangements, Yocco’s, and Long John Silvers. Gluten-free food is also being served.
There will be childrens’ activities and a basket raffle as part of the festival.
The Ecumenical Soup Kitchen in center city Allentown serves more than 35,000 meals a year. Since 1982, they have partnered with Catholic Charities to ensure that the working poor, homeless, elderly, children, those between jobs, and individuals on fixed incomes have at least one hot, nutritious meal every day of the week.
