Area Artists is a biennial exhibition focusing on artist and art educators of the Eastern Pennsylvania region. Angela Fraleigh’s paintings excavate questions of gender, power, and identity from historical sources. Photographer and installation artist Jane Joel engages the iconic image of the wedding dress. Khalil Allaik derives the forms of his wooden sculptures from the cosmic movements of winds and stars. We Heiss uses drawing to trace the magical thinking behind machinery that offers to make life happy, secure, and meaningful.
