Dana Gioia has attained widespread recognition as an award-winning poet. The former Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts is a native Californian of Italian and Mexican descent. He holds B.A. and M.B.B. degrees from Stanford University and an M.A. in Comparative Literature from Harvard University. He has published five full-length collections of poetry and is Poet Laureate of California.
NOTE: Dana Gioia is librettist of "Haunted," a one-act dance opera composed by Paul Salerni, premiering on Saturday, March 2 @ 8 PM Baker Hall Zoellner Arts Center.
