to
Heller Homestead 1890-92 Friedensville Rd, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18015
On Monday, December 4, the Saucon Valley Conservancy will host their 25th Annual Holiday Gathering from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the historic Heller Homestead. Come out and enjoy live music, lite fare, and tours of the 1850s home led by docents in period costume. Do you have a traditional family recipe for a dessert or hors d'oeuvre? Bring your favorite “Olde Christmas Delight” delicacy to the Holiday Gathering to share. Keep traditional family recipes alive!
The Gallery will feature “Olde Christmas Delights” - paintings by local artist and historian Kenneth F. Raniere. Meet the artist himself at 7 p.m. in the Gallery!
In 1965, a school assignment required Ken Raniere to use words or graphics in a Christmas card design. Six years later, his first annual Christmas card illustrated in pen and ink was printed in 1972. For the past forty-five years, he has consecutively illustrated subjects that depict traditional aspects of Christmas. An assortment of greeting cards designed from his paintings will be available for sale.
A former art teacher, Ken Raniere has been the graphics editor of The Morning Call and publication designer at Lehigh University. He has authored numerous books, including A Living Legacy: Architecture of A. W. Leh (2009) and South Bethlehem (Images of America 2010). Ken, a design editor for the newsletters of two local historical societies, currently serves as a board member and was a former president of the Saucon Valley Conservancy.
