Sandy Swenson, author of “The Joey Song: A Mother’s Story Of Her Son’s Addiction” will share the story of her battle with her son’s addiction, and the lessons she learned through her family’s journey, on September 27th at 7 p.m., in Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 Tilghman St., Allentown. Swenson will speak to the impact and the emotional suffering and physical toll the addict’s disease takes on family and friends as they struggle to save their loved one from addiction. In addition to Swenson’s presentation, the Caron Foundation will facilitate a discussion on addiction and family dynamics. Q & A will follow the presentations. Event is free.
