Story Circle Workshop
to
Online/Virtual Easton, Pennsylvania
Bring two photos or mementos for a lively afternoon of storytelling with Suzanne Snider of the Hudson Valley’s Oral History Summer School. She will lead us through a program of talking, listening, and exploring the use of story circles for collecting oral histories and community memories.
FREE: Registration required. Registration link available on our event webpage.
In this virtual workshop, participants will use objects and photographs as jumping-off places for storytelling, engaging collaboratively, and exploring the use of story circles as an accessible oral history practice that can be used in a wide range of settings: families, community groups, schools and museums.
This workshop is appropriate for anyone interested in storytelling, those who wish to learn about oral history and story circles, and/or those interested in family history and regional history. This supportive learning environment values all forms of participation; those who wish to record and archive their short-form narratives (10 minutes) will have the option to do so. No experience necessary.
All registrants should bring two photos and/or objects to the workshop, regardless of their plans to share a story. Further details will be sent to all registrants.
