Michele McLaughlin will discuss the efforts of Pennsylvania suffragists and how their work-and gardens-sparked a nationwide phenomenon. Although the 1915 campaign was unsuccessful, this talk will explore the marketing genius of the suffragists and the opposition they faced. Attendees will also learn about ways to honor the suffragists during the 2020 planting season.
