Summer Film Workshop for Kids:
to
Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts 321 E 3rd Street, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
This workshop, taught by Heath Mensher, is an entryway into the “reading” and comprehension of film as a language. Participants will explore the language of film and how film communicates. Participants will spend time looking carefully at how films are constructed through elements such as lighting, sound, movement, and performance, and how specific filmmaking techniques create specific audience responses. Along with examining popular screenplays, this experience offers chances to create original scenes and storyboards. Introduction to Film and Screenwriting gives beginning students the opportunity to think about, talk about, and write about film. Open to children entering 7th– 9th grades. (6th grade may be considered). This workshop is part of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts' Summer Academy, a program of enrichment workshops that is open to the community. Fee: $175. Call 610-868-2971 Ext. 3185 to register. Check out all of the summer offerings at www.CharterArts.org.
