Wildlands Conservancy: Annual Lehigh River Sojourn! Paddle into Summer with Some Family Fun!
The 27th Annual Lehigh River Sojourn, June 10-11, 2023, is Wildlands Conservancy’s guided paddling trip on the Lehigh River. This two-day experience invites the adventure of whitewater rafting through the Lehigh Gorge in the Poconos, along with a canoeing or kayaking experience through the metro-wilderness reaches of the Lehigh River in the Lehigh Valley that includes a special exploration of Island Park this year. Sojourners are treated to scenic views, visits from resident wildlife, and a shared appreciation for the lifeblood of our region — our mighty and beloved Lehigh River!
Choose to participate either day (camping overnight options available) or join us both days & Save 10%.
• Saturday, June 10 at 8:00 am – Meet at Pocono Whitewater at 1519 State Route 903, Jim Thorpe, PA for whitewater rafting through Lehigh Gorge State Park from Drakes Creek to Glenn Onoko with opportunity to camp overnight (Friday) at Lehigh River’s only riverside campground.
• Sunday, June 11 at 9:00 am – Meet at 2750 Hugh Moore Park Rd., Easton, PA for a shuttle to Sand Island for a light breakfast and then canoeing downstream, viewing bald eagles and experiencing our metro-wilderness. Then at Rt. 33 boat access, stop for catered lunch and educational program, and paddle down along Island Park for an exploration of this unique area. There is an option to camp overnight (Saturday) at the Hickory Run State Park.
