Fall Forward
By: Online this Month, Lehigh Valley Style October 2016, Beauty

With summer gone and fall here, we look to the runways for new beauty trends in order to update our style for the cooler months. Hot off the catwalk, here's what trending now.

Go Deep

Whether you part your hair on the left or right, you are in style for fall 2016. Deep side parts were a look on many runways, like Marissa Webb. It is an easy update to your current style. The look is great because it can be done with both sleek straight or curly hair. Create the parting on the round of your head, or what is called the “partial ridge,” to keep this look on fleek.

Roaring Twenties

The ‘20s are roaring back and the marcel wave is a great look for fall. More modern, and easy to do yourself, the wave will give you a fun, updated look for a night out. Part your hair on one side and add gel to the front section of hair. Comb waves in an S-formation against the side of your face and add hairpins to clip into place. Let dry and remove pins and hit with a bit of hairspray. The waves can be super sleek and dramatic like those at Marc Jacobs or a bit softer as seen at Stella McCartney.

Curly Hair, Don't Care

Texture is huge for fall. Trends ran the gamut of natural curls, tight curls and big, sexy, curls. Many curly hair looks on the runways consisted of middle parts and tight curls. We saw controlled curls, like those at Zac Posen, and frizzy but cool curls, like at Louis Vuitton.

Make Waves

For those of you with long hair who want some great texture, look no further. Long, sexy, bedroom waves are a fall fashion trend, and getting this look couldn't be easier. Braid hair the night before or even wear your hair in buns, unpin in the morning and shake it out to loosen waves. Simple as that. For a more controlled look, grab your curling wand, wrap hair around and give a good pull after hair is removed from wand. The pull will lessen the wave and give you that slept in look. The common theme with this look? A center part. Ralph Lauren did it best.

It's easy to follow some of the hair trends that were on the catwalks this season. These simple changes will make you the fashion forward woman in our Valley.
