Okay, so you just never know whom you might meet while working out at the gym, right? But we all know that looking great at the gym probably isn't your first priority. A stride in the right direction could actually begin at the top—with your hair!
Celebrity hair stylist Josue Perez, who works with some of Hollywood's hottest stars including Cameron Diaz, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwyneth Paltrow, offers tips and tricks on how to make your hair work for you at the gym.
Try one of these suggestions before you hit the treadmill again!
A sleek ponytail
The basic high ponytail can go for miles! You'll go further faster with your hair controlled and completely out of your face. Plus, it's a sleek look that's easy to pull off. Just add a dab or two of your favorite styling lotion to slightly damp hair before gathering and pulling it back high on the crown of your head.
French braid
A French side braid is a great gym-do for you if you have bangs or layers. This hairstyle not only keeps any loose hair from sticking to your face but also adds a chic look so you can even hit the gym in style.
The high bun
This hairstyle is the ultimate worry free gym-do. With all your hair off of your back and out of your face, your hair will be the last thing distracting you at the gym. Simply create a high pony first and then wind the pony in a circular motion at the crown of your head and slip in a few bobby pins to hold in place. Invest in a thin hair band to hold side hairs in place for the finishing touch.
