A weird thing happened last week. Before I went into work on Thursday, I had a dream that I was at the LVS office (it was a little different—red velvet furniture), and I was being sent out to do reconnaissance on a multitude of local businesses. Far from an arrive-with-no-pants dream, this was a dream of one of my favorite facets of the internship, and I looked forward to my expedition. The weirdness is that my dream more or less came true this week: I had to put together a whole bunch of Life in the Valley blurbs, paying visits to several boutiques. There's still no red velvet at the office, but that would probably be tacky and encourage too much languid repose on the job.
Pippi & Peanuts Eclectic Boutique is tucked away on Second Street in Quakertown, but walking through the door is like being transported to a fanciful wonderland of home furnishings—old and new—expertly intermingling in a whimsical mix unlike any other boutique I've visited. And The Spa at Westgate is a haven of gentle light and soothing music—much-needed invigoration for a mall with a lot of empty storefronts. If nothing else, my adventures have been a definite lesson in ambiance.
On top of this, I also scrambled to get a bunch of web stories done for December. This involved a lot of research into the various ways to decorate a holiday tree. When the holiday season comes around, I can't wait to get a tree into my house, and I can't bear to let it go. I've kept it into February in the form of a Valentine's tree—just red, pink, purple, white, gold and silver decorations. Is this insane or just extremely festive?
Shh, don't answer.
