Fall will be here before we know it and many retailers have already introduced their new lines. Pantone also announced the top 20 colors for the season on wwd.com and they are all richly beautiful. Some of the trends we saw in spring and summer have transitioned into fall, just in a more refined color palette and with heavier fabrics. Below are my top three style trends for the coming cooler months.
Winter Florals
They are still going strong! Think garden prints and deep, bold tones like this high collar dress from Zara.
Style Tip: Don't store your summer florals just yet, if you can add a pair of tights or jeans and a bomber jacket to the look, go for it!
Plaids
These were all over the runway during the fall 2017 shows. Take it past the plaid flannel shirt and opt for something more elevated like this Betsey Johnson asymmetrical dress from Nordstrom.
Denim
Texas tuxedo anyone? Sometimes I feel like a broken record because I am always talking about denim, but it is what it is! And denim is always in style. Don't feel like you should buy new for this trend—chances are you probably have a denim shirt and jeans in your closet. Tuck in the shirt and slip on a pointy toe and you are set! If you do want to buy a few new denim pieces, ASOS has a lot of unique denim options at affordable price points.
