FD Market is popping up everywhere—literally and figuratively. In addition to their Emmaus storefront, they've opened another shop in Easton. And you can find their mobile market at the Easton Farmers' Market on Saturdays and at the Saucon Valley Farmers' Market on Sundays as well as at other markets and events on a pop-up basis (follow along on social for details!). And while there are currently no plans for a third location, FD Market will continue to visit new cities in the hopes of providing the entire Valley with sustainable goods.

Tell us about the decision to open a second retail location in Easton!
We have been a vendor at the Easton Farmers' Market for a little over a year. We fell in love with the city on our first day at the market. The community here is unmatched. There is a very large Earth-conscious community here and we loved spending our Saturdays getting to chat with them about all things sustainability! The market is such a fun way for the community to connect with local small business. Literally—my employees fight over who gets to go each week! There is so much to do in the city, and we feel as though Easton is constantly growing and changing to accommodate the people who live there. When it came time for a second location, we knew we wanted to be part of a progressive city that valued change and community as much as we did, and, well, Easton was the obvious choice!
How does the Easton location differ from the Emmaus store?
Overall, the shops are pretty similar! Our product offerings are the same with only a few minor exceptions. The Easton store is definitely more refined and polished than our Emmaus shop. We were a start-up when we opened the Emmaus shop and didn't have a super-clear brand identity. Things in that shop feel sort of pieced together. Three years later, we have a clearer identity, and I feel like the Easton shop really perfectly captures our aesthetic. Emmaus taught us what works and what doesn't, so we took that into consideration when fitting out the Easton store. Our layout is a bit different in Easton, which we think optimizes the customer experience.
How has FD Market's mission evolved and how has the business grown since launching at the end of 2019?
Overall, our mission is the same: to help the Lehigh Valley live more mindfully and reduce their waste. The business has grown rapidly in the past three years; it would not be possible to sustain without my incredible team and community.
How do you hope to see FD Market continuing to make an impact moving forward?
I hope to be able to continue helping individuals make sustainable changes in their lives, but more and more, I am realizing that other businesses need help in that department as well. Especially as a small business, it is difficult to know where to start in sourcing products that are sustainable and ethical. In the coming weeks, we will be launching a new business-to-business branch of FD Market that will supply other retail stores with sustainable and ethical goods.
