Tell us about your journey to opening your second location, the Flower & Gift Shop!
Our shop in Orefield is focused on flowers, plants and garden accents. It's an escape for the gardener or for the person who wants to feel a sense of nature around them. When the opportunity to open a second location arose, it was exciting because it would provide another type of escape for the Lehigh Valley… a unique flower and gift shop to explore displays of inspirational and feel-good gifts. With the world heading to online shopping experiences, we are losing the piece of feeling items before we purchase them and also the experience of human interaction at a store. In my mind, the idea of having a place in the Lehigh Valley where people could pick up a quick, unique gift was needed.

What do you love about being in Allentown?
I am born and raised in Allentown, so it is what I know and love. There is a wonderful feeling I get when customers come in and I know them, whether it's from them shopping at our Orefield location or from my living in the Lehigh Valley for so many years. Also, I love that our business is helping the Allentown community by offering a place to escape or a place to find that unique gift for themselves or a friend.
Describe the variety of offerings at the Flower & Gift Shop.
Our Flower & Gift Shop has a wide variety of unique items to help you relax and take care of your mind and body. First and foremost, fresh floral arrangements that make people feel happy and lift their mood are created daily by one of our three florists. There are also other types of items that make you feel good and relaxed, such as candles, soaps, lotions, jewelry, essential oils, diffusers, journals and writing items, specialty honey, smudge sticks, crystals, cooking salts, unique socks, umbrellas, suncatchers and so much more.
How do the offerings differ from what's available at your Orefield location?
Our Orefield location has a “gardener” focus with annuals, vegetable plants, herbs, perennials, trees and shrubs, hanging baskets, patio planters, house plants and all the containers you'd want or need for your plants. It focuses more on garden-inspired items, but I also throw in some fun products like house and garden décor as well as inspirational pieces. The Flower & Gift Shop offers a variety of items, including some house and garden décor, but many items that we cannot house at our greenhouse setting. The temperature at the Orefield location fluctuates based on the weather so the Flower & Gift Shop provides a temperature consistent with safely displaying candles, lotions, chocolates, etc. Also, the environment at the Orefield location often gets a little dirty from the plants and soil, so the Flower & Gift Shop is a clean, calm atmosphere to shop for a special gift.
