What’s Hot For Spring?

by Patrick Mcivor

Meet the New President of C.F. Martin & Co.

What's hot for spring? Everything! From tops to toes and lots of things in between, spring is bringing more than just flowers this year.

Tops

Off-the-shoulder tops are hot for spring, and the best part about this trend is that just because you decide on your top, there are still so many options that will work as your bottom. It works equally as well with jeans, shorts or just about anything else you want! The off-the-shoulder trend works with dresses and was all over the red carpets this season with celebrities embracing the new look.

Bottoms

Jeans are hot for spring and damaged or repaired is the new, new. Ripped, frayed, torn, patches and patched is the look, and straight leg or boyfriend jeans are the spring profile. The best part of this look for the season is that these jeans can be dressed up for a backyard or summer party, and they can be paired with a pair of sandals, flip flops, sneakers or even bare foot for a casually fashionable day. And, of course, these jeans pair perfectly with an off-the-shoulder top to really nail spring's hottest trends.

Shoes

From proms to weddings, who doesn't just need another great pair of shoes? The look for spring is a strappy shoe with a chunky heel. This look can vary in the height of the heel, giving options from a chunky kitten heel to towering 5-plus-inches range.

Hair

Medium is the new long, with collarbone lengths at the long end, and below the jaw on the medium length. If you're thinking short, it's here for spring too! From early clean shaved undercuts, to completely shaved sides, short doesn't have to be all over. But if you are willing to make the cut, short hair has lots of options, with Katy Perry, Kristen Stewart and Kristen Wiig leading the way. On the longer side, check out Hailey Baldwin and Kendall Jenner's new cuts.

Make Up

The eyes are at their most colorful this season. With rainbow lids and colored lashes as the most extreme, they can still pair well with a soft lip and fresh face. But if a more subtle eye is what you want, bring some dazzle to the skin with sparkle or glitter for almost jewel-like skin.

Spring 2017 is about having fun, and maybe this is fashion's way of distracting us from what seemed like a mild winter.
