We've gathered a list of ten tasty, make-at-home Mother's day specials that are sure to please whatever the preference, from a light and healthy frittata breakfast in bed to an elegant family-style French toast gathering.

1. Ham & Egg Breakfast Pizza

Brunch doesn't have to be complicated; a few fresh and delicious ingredients can make a dish stand out. This breakfast pizza demonstrates how great food can look five-star without being fussy.

  • 1 piece of Naan bread
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons pizza sauce
  • 5 teaspoons ricotta cheese
  • 1 piece ham
  • 2 heaping teaspoons grated Pecorino Romano cheese
  • 1 egg, cracked in a small bowl
  • Fresh basil, thinly sliced

2. Overnight Baked Caramel French Toast

Here's a classic brunch favorite made easy without sacrificing deliciousness. Impress your mom with this rich, decadent treat.

Topping:

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • Chopped pecans

French Toast:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • A heart shaped cookie cutter
  • 6 slices soft bread
  • 1 stick butter
  • 6 eggs

  • 2 small sweet potatoes, thinly sliced or chopped
  • 1 medium Yukon gold potato, chopped

5. Hash Brown Egg White Nests

Your mom will appreciate this healthy spin on an egg omelet. These egg white nests are fun, healthy and a tasty, savory dish for your Mother's Day brunch!

  • Olive oil spray
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1 cup shredded potatoes
  • Dash of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup egg whites or egg beaters, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons diced onions
  • 1/4 cup diced bell peppers
  • 0.8 ounce reduced fat Swiss, chopped
  • 1 ounce turkey or ham, diced

6. Carrot Cake Waffles

When dessert meets breakfast, it's hard to go wrong. Time to whip out your waffle iron! At the core of this luscious recipe, your mom will find notes of spice cake flavors, browned butter, raisins and walnuts. Topped with Maple Nut Cream Cheese, you'll want to make note of this recipe for next year.

Waffles:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cup finely grated carrots
  • Cooking spray for waffle iron

Maple Nut Cream Cheese Spread:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3-4 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/8 cup chopped walnuts

7. Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes

If pancakes bring childhood memories back to your mom, this fresh take on a breakfast favorite will surely make her smile. It's topped with sugared berries: a bright dish with that iconic comfort.

  • 2 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/3 cup poppy seeds
  • Zest of 4 lemons
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

8. Homemade Bloody Mary with Turmeric & Black Pepper

I know many of us at Style are Bloody Mary fans, and since we're also pretty health conscious, we wanted to share a cocktail that you can safely deem as healthy and will be sure to “wow” your mom if she's a fan of the spicy drink. It's full of fresh veggie juice, herbs, black pepper and the underestimated turmeric, which has anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and memory-improving properties.

  • 4 ounces fresh tomato juice
  • 2 ounces fresh carrot juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon cracked black pepper
  • 1-2 teaspoon turmeric, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped basil, parsley or cilantro
  • 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3-4 drops olive oil
  • Lime or lemon wedge, sea salt and black pepper, for the glass
  • Garnish of choice
  • 2 ounces vodka

9. Cheese, Herb & Prosciutto Frittata

Frittata is a truly decadent egg dish, and this recipe exhibits that. It will work perfectly for your make-at-home Mother's Day brunch—hot or cold—as it has loads of caramelized onions, waxy potatoes, fresh herbs, salty cheese and crispy prosciutto.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 medium onion, sliced into thin strips
  • 5 or 6 small salad potatoes, cooked and sliced
  • 6 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 heaped tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 heaped tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 80g Feta cheese cut into 8 large chunks
  • 75g Prosciutto
  • 10 shavings Parmesan
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chives, chopped

  • 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen sliced peaches
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen whole strawberries
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen pineapple slices
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen blackberries
  • Note: you can use any type of fruit you like best.
  • 4 tablespoons agave nectar, divided
  • 5 cups water, divided
  • Prosecco or sparkling water (a great option if you opt for non-alcoholic drinks)
