We bet that even if you fancy yourself a cocktail connoisseur you’ve never had a drink like the Voiron being served at theMINT Gastropub in Bethlehem. Upon your first sip, it’s a smooth combination of citrus, honey and spice that will delight your senses and warm you from the inside out. This twist on a traditional Manhattan features an artful balance of bourbon, Yellow Chartreuse, Italian vermouth and orange bitters that pleases the contemporary cocktail consumer, explains Bar Manager Bradley Navarra. While Manhattans are typically made with rye whiskey, Italian vermouth and bitters, today’s palates tend to favor bourbon instead of rye. “The addition of the Yellow Chartreuse was made in an effort to add an herbal citrus, honey complexity to an already delicious cocktail,” he says of this nearly 400-year-old liqueur blend of 130 different herbs, plants and flowers made by Carthusian monks in the French Alps.
