The Iron Mule’s Spiral Spud appetizer consists of a tempura-floured, deep-fried russet potato that’s topped with crispy bacon bits and scallions, and comes with a side of house beer cheese. “The inspiration behind the Spiral Spud was the Jersey boardwalks,” says Yayah McGurn, general manager. “The Spud can be paired with almost any lager—or a Shock Top, Blue Moon, Hoegaarden, etc.”
McGurn says that the dish is one of the more popular appetizers that the restaurant offers and is definitely here to stay. Other favorites include their Wings Your Way and the bacon-wrapped Brussels sprouts.
The Iron Mule debuted its new seasonal menu over Memorial Day weekend, so be sure to go check it out.
