Last week I had the pleasure of meeting David Joachim. Who's David Joachim, you ask? He's a cookbook author and grill-master who just so happens to reside in Center Valley. Thirty-six cookbooks (Fire In My Belly, which he developed with Top Chef Season 6 favorite Kevin Gillespie, is set to release this fall), six artisanal salt creations for his company Chef Salt, 10 grills in his backyard . . . you get the picture!
Anyway, Joachim couldn't have been a more perfect fit for June's In the Kitchen With . . . column and photographer Alison Conklin and I had a great time getting to know him.
While he taught us a lot that day about the art of grilling, one thing I took away was that literally anything can be grilled! I can't wait to purchase my first grill this summer and I know I will be ready to get grillin' because he made sure that we both left with an autographed copy of his latest release, Fire It Up, a grilling Bible packed with more than 400 recipes! Now I know meals at my house will never be the same again. If anyone has some grilling tips they swear by, I'd love to hear them! Check back soon!
