Current Director of Development for St. Luke's University Health Network, Kelly Chando previously spent time as an employee at United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV), and became increasingly aware of certain challenges children and families face in the community. Chando acknowledges that it was at this point in her career when she became prominently involved in volunteer work.
Chando's passion for health and women's leadership is exemplified throughout her volunteer work. She was the co-chair for the Lehigh Valley Women's Summit two years in a row and continues to broaden her reach around the Lehigh Valley. Today, Chando is involved in three volunteer programs and holds a leadership position in two of them.
After experiencing her own health scare, she became affiliated with the American Heart Association. Four days after having an emergency C-section in 2017, Chando was readmitted with preeclampsia, a rare condition that affects pregnant women. She served as the co-chair for the 2019 Go Red for Women campaign.
Aiding women in more ways than one, Chando is the Vice President of Engagement for the Women's Business Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, where she plays a role in inspiring local businesswomen.
Expanding her reach even further, Chando also spends her time volunteering as a member of the Board of Governors for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, where she helps improve the economy and quality of life in the community.
