As the co-founder of FIA NYC Employment Services, Lindsay Watson plays the role of relationship manager, recruiter and career coach daily. Those who know Watson personally would probably give her a different title: daughter, auntie, animal lover and friend. “I learned years ago that my journey is multifaceted and nothing matters if I’m not a good person inside and out,” she says. “Whenever I’m asked about my journey, I always like to honor those who have helped me along the way.”
Her journey began in the world of recruiting as a coordinator at Goldman Sachs. “I fell in love with being able to connect people to opportunities, to ‘solve the puzzle,’ so to speak, of recruiting and staffing,” says Watson. Fast-forward to 2012 and FIA NYC Employment Services was born. “We are an award-winning, 100 percent minority-owned business (MBE). Our motto ‘corporate service with a personal approach’ reflects the drive and commitment to quality that we strive to deliver each day.”
FIA NYC began in New York City and relocated to the Lehigh Valley in 2013. Specializing in professional services staffing from entry level to C-suite employees, FIA NYC cultivates strong relationships built upon integrity and trust. Watson always strives to remain true to her core company motto: keeping the “human” in human capital.
She does this within her community as well, serving on boards and committees throughout the region, including United Way of Greater Lehigh Valley, the American Heart Association, American Red Cross and Miller-Keystone Blood Center.
Watson continuously notes that her successes are attributed to those who came before her, especially her mother, father and business partner. “I truly believe that I am the product of those who came before me, and paved the way for me to accomplish great and new things,” she says. “My work, my lifestyle and how I treat others is a way to honor those before me. Keeping this in mind, I am able to put into perspective that there are others after me who will benefit from the work that I am destined to accomplish. With those two things in mind, I strive to be all that I’m supposed to be, to make those before and ahead of me proud.”
