Staple Pieces
Keep an eye out for these blasts from the past. Fishnet stockings, long trench coats, retro hats, oversized blazers, wide belts, collars and buttons will be everything this fall. Also keep an eye out for mid-length skirts, which will have the potential of being worn with a colorful sweater or collared shirt. Try this mid-length skirt or this collared shirt, both available at H&M. This trench coat from ASOS meets the collar, belt, trench and oversized requirements of the season. Pair it with a felt bucket hat like this one from Urban Outfitters to complete the look and give the appearance that you just walked off the runway

Fabric
Expect to see a lot of velvet, plaid, faux fur, denim and sparkles come September. Denim doesn’t just mean your favorite jeans—instead, try a denim jacket. Your old sparkly UGGs may need to be upgraded or replaced by new sparkly pair of flats. You can’t go wrong with a little plaid, and if you live in the Valley, there is a strong chance you already own a plaid shirt. Fake fur and velvet will also be abundant in coats and tops. Try this denim jacket from J.Crew. These sparkly flats by ASOS will also do the trick. When it comes to velvet, check out these velour leggings from H&M. For the faux fur look, ASOS hits the mark with its tall coat.
