A typical day at LVS is spent in front of a computer, typing away to research and write upcoming articles. I don’t mind the quiet office setting, but it’s nice to get a change of scenery once in a while. Last week I had the opportunity to do just that when I assisted Meghan on a photo shoot for our December issue.
I’m a huge fan of all things fall: pumpkin spice lattes, the colorful changing leaves and most importantly, fall holidays. Some of the most beautiful sights of the season are the decorations that accompany Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. So I was really excited when we photographed wreath-making guru and all-around-crafty-girl Abby Ogden as she assembled amazing wreaths made of real pine branches, citrus fruits and artificial flowers.
She demonstrated how easy wreath making can really be, and how anyone can channel their creativity to make gorgeous home decorations for the holidays. In just about two hours, Abby crafted two different wreaths, and I learned how simple and artistic creating projects like these can be.
I learned so much at the shoot, not just about how to make my own wreath, but about what goes on behind the scenes. I recorded video footage and took photos of the action and in between finding the perfect lighting, angle and moment, I learned how much work goes into getting the perfect shot.
The photo shoot really got me into the holiday spirit and I hope all of you are as excited about our upcoming holiday issues as we are here at LVS! Check back soon!
