The corner storefront on 3rd and Pine in Easton has moved through incarnations of antique shop over the years before stretching new wings as the butterfly that is the Belleville Market. Modeled on the Belleville neighborhood in Paris known for its outdoor markets and street art, this shopping experience is the work of Domaci Home’s Derrick and Warren Clark, who envision a one-stop shop for the perusal and purchase of unique gifts and goods.
Independently owned small businesses have a foothold in front of shoppers in 40-plus booths and showcases at Belleville, giving those with no brick-and-mortar location a physical presence, and some established businesses a secondary location to sell from. For up and coming entrepreneurs, it’s an opportunity to run with a great pack. “In that way,” Warren says, “we hope to be a sort of small business incubator.” Not only will shoppers find a menagerie of local creators’, curators’ and collectors’ wares, the space includes the loft-level Atelier, a leasable workshop and event space. This flexible space carries the vintage vibe of Belleville to private events such as showers or birthday parties, and the Clarks anticipate plenty of creative workshops like floral design, paint and sips, or hand-building pottery. It’s easy to see how Belleville Market brings people, art and commerce together.
The diversity of the shopping experience can’t be overstated. From the handmade to the painstakingly restored, from the edible import to the alive-and-leafy potted plant, from the ornamental to the interactive, the merchandise from Belleville’s sellers runs a vibrant gamut that continues to evolve. Here are just 10 of the many merchants for your browsing bliss.
