Community Hike
Reset Outdoors invites you to increase your general sense of well-being through exercise and time spent in natures. This hike begins with a personal check-in and pauses halfway through for a mindfulness exercise. Join the group on Thursday, August 19 at South Mountain Park from 5:30–7:30 p.m. The event is free to attend but limited to 15 people, so be sure to register in advance.
Fresh Flower Fridays at Crooked Row
Head to Crooked Row Farm between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday to check out the beautiful blooms and bounty of the season. Enjoy a brief tour and pick some of your own flowers to take home. The event is donation-based ($12 per person is suggested), with all proceeds benefiting Afros in Nature.
FarmFest at the Lehigh Valley Zoo
On Saturday, the Lehigh Valley Zoo will celebrate FarmFest with an assortment of local food vendor on site from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by the Farm in the Zoo area to feed the goats and say hello to the llama, alpacas, sheep and more.
Breathe Back into School
Calling all local parents! Is your little one heading back to school this fall? Don't miss this free event on Saturday. Led by the Shanthi Project, participants will enjoy a free program of mindful activities, movements and games designed to help kids feel calm and focused. The event will be broken up into two timeslots based on grade and will take place in the auditorium of Allentown Art Museum. Click here to register.
PA STEAM Fest at ArtsQuest
Celebrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Makers and Video Games with other professionals, experts, educators and game developers at the annual STEAM Festival. The event includes workshops, lesson seminars, educational panels, new innovations, demos, digital artists, cosplay and more. The festival will take place at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks this Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are available here.
Chardonnay & Namaste at Black River Farms
Head to Black River Farms Winery on Wednesday, August 25 for a yoga session led by Laurel Attanasio followed by wine and cheese. The event runs from 6–8 p.m., with tickets available for $30.
