This past week I was able to attend my first Style Insider Happy Hour event for Lehigh Valley Style. It was held at Corked Wine Bar & Steak House, which I was really excited about since I hadn't been there yet. When I walked inside, I quickly realized why all of my friends and family are always talking about this place. The atmosphere is amazing! I would try to describe it to you, but it is truly something you'd have to experience for yourself.
I only arrived a few minutes after 5:30, and I was shocked to see how many people were there already. My father, who was my date for the evening, gave me a quick tour of the restaurant since he had been there already, after which, I started to run into everyone from Lehigh Valley Style. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone in such a laid back atmosphere.
Shortly after I got settled at a table, more people began coming in. I got the opportunity to meet more new people and network with them. It was obvious to me just from observing the large crowd that everyone really enjoys the magazine's monthly happy hour events. Everyone was having such a good time, and once it was 7:30 it was apparent that no one was planning on leaving anytime soon. I stayed until about 8:30, but I couldn't leave before treating myself to some Smoked Gouda Lobster Mac (seriously, so delicious!).
Although this was a fun work-related activity, I ended up learning from it, as well. All the women that work here at Lehigh Valley Style are very skilled at their jobs, and they are also so personable and outgoing. It really is so important to have these qualities for this type of career because you work with a variety of people every day. I know it may seem like common sense to be kind to others, but I feel like sometimes people forget just how important that is at work.
Well, time to put the party on hold and get back to work. New, exciting projects are already starting to fill up my inbox! Until next time…
