Alexandra MacLean and Robert Rooke met at Bucknell University. When the couple was strolling to Bethlehem's VegFest one day, Alex's talk of her dream wedding sparked an unexpected response. “Well, if we're going to talk about our wedding,” Rob replied, “we have to get engaged first.” She looked back to find him on one knee.
What had been a guest list of 145 people was adjusted to an intimate lakeside wedding of 12. A custom-made dress included lace from Alex's mother's wedding dress, and Rob's bespoke suit held their wedding date embroidered in the collar. The script for their ceremony was written by Rob and Alex, and there wasn't a dry eye in attendance—including the photographers! Guests enjoyed charcuterie and champagne, and a first dance to “I Wanna Grow Old With You.” In true pandemic fashion, the couple later included family and friends with a Zoom call.
