Kerry Madden and Zachary McCann met at a mutual friend's party in Ocean City, Maryland, enjoying the boardwalk, playing mini-golf and hitting it off. Zach's Christmas dinner-date reservations at The Dandelion in Philadelphia gave even greater cause for celebration when he knelt and blindsided Kerry with a tear-jerking proposal.
Thanks to COVID-19, two years of carefully curating their 150-person wedding gave way to a DIY micro-wedding of 30, planned in less than four months. Under a trellis at Zach's parents' 1800s farmhouse in Allentown, Kerry's brother officiated the wedding, perfectly balancing laughter and love. Flowers were provided by the Glicks, a wonderful Amish family that also supplies Zach's weekly gift of farmers' market flowers for Kerry. The day was filled with hilarious toasts and stories, amazing tapas food, lawn games and a playlist of the couple's favorite tunes. A one-year vow renewal will follow next September, with their original plans and vendors.
