Hello Style readers! These past couple weeks have been extremely eventful. Recently, I was invited to work my first photo shoot for the 2015 Weddings in Style issue. Being recently engaged, it was great to get ideas for my future wedding from this photo shoot. Luckily it was a gorgeous fall day, and everyone was able to enjoy the scenic view at the Olde Homestead Golf Club while working.
Shortly after arriving to the venue, I was sent on my first mission. The ties that were provided for the model groom just weren't quite what we were looking for to go with his suit, so I was asked to meet with the contact from C.E. Roth who provided the original ties so we could get some other options. Not being from the New Tripoli, I got a little worried that I would get lost on my way to get the ties (since I tend to be directionally challenged). Fortunately, I made it there and back with the ties without getting lost!
Once I returned, we began adventuring around the golf course to take the different shots. We had to use golf carts to get around, and neither Lisa nor I have ever driven one before. I put my faith in Lisa to drive the golf cart, and we go to each location safely and had a blast doing so!
It was a long day, but what I learned from this new experience is that there is a lot of hard work and time that goes into a professional photo shoot that the reader doesn't see. The flowers, dresses, makeup, hair and props are all important elements of the shoot that took time to conceive and create. Our models from Image International, hair and makeup team from J. Morgan Salon & Home, Sarah Petryk from Allium Floral Design and our photographer, Alison Conklin, did an outstanding job! I can't wait to see the finished product in January! In the meantime, here's a sneak peek of the wedding shoot!
There is still much work to do for the wedding issue, so I am back at it! Until next time readers!
