Though they had many mutual friends growing up on Long Island, Mary Deas and Ryan Prezesio didn't meet until Ryan reached out to her on social media. One date turned into a lifetime. While the couple lived in Portland, Oregon, in 2019, Ryan proposed on the sunset shore at Cape Lookout.
With their first attempted wedding canceled by COVID-19, the newly Pennsylvanian couple was forced to revamp their plans. By that time, Ryan's father had fallen ill. Every effort was made to ensure his attendance, where he brought poignant tears to the ceremony. Inspired by the juice shop “GI Juice” that Ryan co-owns, a citrus theme ran through the wedding's cake and décor, and the photo booth gave guests an entertaining extra to commemorate the day. Mary assembled her bridesmaids from four phases of her life, from her lifelong sister to a more recent friend, to help usher her into a new chapter.
