What to Wear: From Growlers to Goblets
By: Lehigh Valley Style March 2017, Fashion, Online this Month

It's that time of year in Lehigh Valley: We start to have a few of those 60-something degree days that give us high hopes that spring is just around the corner. Fortunately, the area is filled with amazing wineries and breweries that will begin to offer tastings and tours, perfect for a Saturday or Sunday with a group of friends. Both are great options to learn about the flavor profiles and relax from a long week, but I have found that what I typically will wear to a wine tasting differs from a brewery visit. Below I have link a few of my favorite looks for either event.

For the Wine Enthusiast

Wine just makes you feel fancier, especially a sparkling wine. The last winery visit I went on had a cheese pairing with it, which was amazing! I think a great way to keep an outfit effortlessly chic is to wear basics (jean and a neutral tee or tank) and then bring in your embellishments with the below statement pieces.

The Jacket

This ruffle jacket from Storets is definitely an attention grabber, but the grey color mutes it down just enough so you can incorporate other prints or bright colors.

The Shoe

Embroidered pumps, sandals and flats are perfect for spring. These black and coral block heels by Ash are perfect for a less-than-flat terrain (you never know what to expect if you're at a vineyard!). They are a nice balance to the ruffle jacket because they are still embellished but have a small print.

The Bag

Clutches aren't just for the evening anymore. I love this faux leather clutch in yellow from Forever 21. It brings the whole look together with its simple fabric and interesting shape. Also, the yellow and grey from the jacket complement each other nicely, as well as the gold thread in the sandal.

For the Beer Lover

Beer has truly exploded over the past five years; I can barely keep up with it. But I feel like there is something so comforting and earthy when going to a brewery visit or tasting. That's usually why I keep my color tones in the olives, beiges and even blues.

The Dress

My closet is filled with dresses, especially print dresses. They are so simple to just throw on and go, which is why this relaxed fit, blue floral dress from Gap, Lehigh Valley Mall, is ideal.

The Vest

A long vest is a perfect way to play with proportions, and this moss green trench vest from Anthropologie is definitely something I will be adding to my closet for spring.

The Shoe

Perforated boots, pumps and sandals have been taking over. We saw them last year, but there are a lot more colors and styles available now. The tan booties by Lucky Brand have a heel that is just the right height, and the split topline detail is really unique.
