Ryan and Caroline met at a Halloween party their senior year at DeSales University and began a long-distance relationship after graduation. On the eve of a Bahamas birthday cruise for Caroline, Ryan filled his apartment with rose petals and candlelight to offer her his ring, set with a diamond that had been his grandmother’s.

On their magical day, the predicted thunderstorms held off until midnight, sparing the breathtaking Spanish lace gown. Caroline wove treasured family heirlooms into the ceremony, like her grandmother’s wedding band and a generations-old rosary. Both the bride’s Italian heritage and the groom’s Pennsylvania Dutch background were reflected in treats like Italian cookies, torrone and miniature shoofly pies. The dual-flavored cake, with chocolate mint for Caroline and cannoli filling for Ryan, exceeded expectations. After a sparkler send-off, the party continued at the Glasbern Inn’s pub, the end to a day of beautiful memories.
