Jill and William met watching their sons play on the same ice hockey team. One lived in Pennsylvania, the other in New Jersey, so the couple met in Lambertville to walk by the river weekly. It was here that William proposed on the anniversary of their first date.

Hurricane Irma scuttled plans to be married overlooking the ocean in St. Martin, but there was a silver lining for the couple: They turned to their favorite romantic little town of Lambertville and found a riverside venue in sight of the bridge from her home state to his. With an intimate gathering of family and friends, their children made up the wedding party and granddaughter Emma acted as flower girl in a ceremony not far from where William had proposed.
Guests celebrated at the nearby Riverside Lounge at Lambertville Station, transformed with flowers and a show-stopping navy-blue vegan cake.
