The exhibition The 1960s: A Decade that Transformed America features a selection of iconic images, artifacts, popular music and television shows highlighting historic events of the ’60s that are both inspirational and uplifting. The ’60s ushered in a tectonic shift in civil rights, women’s rights and environmental reforms, along with a tumultuous era of civil unrest. “This exhibit combines popular culture and nostalgia with serious retrospective about a decade that shaped our modern world,” says executive director Joseph Garrera. Some of the iconic images include John F. Kennedy’s campaign poster from when he was running as the Democratic candidate for the presidency.
