Right now, paying it forward is more important than ever. Read on to see how you can support these local businesses and organizations that are making a difference.
Give Blood
Due to our current crisis, Miller-Keystone Blood Center has lost more than 200 regional blood drives, which totals approximately 5,500 life-saving blood donations. This seriously impacts Miller-Keystone’s ability to provide for the transfusion needs at the Valley’s regional hospitals. They are encouraging donors to visit their fixed sites in the weeks to come, which are operating under an appointment-only policy that upholds the recommended social distancing guidelines. Donate to a Local Food Bank
As people within our community face long periods without a paycheck, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania confirms that the demand for food is extremely high and is expected to increase in the weeks to come. They are continuing to make deliveries to their network of 200 nonprofit agencies across their six-county territory. In addition to their regular distribution that serves 60,000 people each month, they are packing and distributing special emergency food boxes to their network. No one has ever been turned away from Second Harvest’s partner pantries due to lack of food—and they are determined to keep it that way. But they need your help in order to buy more food. For every $1 donated, they are able to provide six meals to our neighbors in need. Click here to make a donation.
Help Feed Our Healthcare Heroes
29 Cooks in Emmaus is working hard to provide meals to the LVHN 2K-ICU and 2K-ICU South. Their goal for April is to provide the doctors, nurses and other healthcare heroes on the frontlines with three to five meals a week. They are safely preparing fresh, healthy and varied meals, and delivering them contact-free so that the teams do not have to worry about preparing their own lunches or leave their controlled environments during lunch. 29 Cooks is discounting their normal pricing by 30 percent and has waived all additional charges. The average price of a full lunch is between $10.50 and $12.50, plus sales tax. If financially able, you or your company can consider underwriting an entire meal for the 25 people in the 2K-ICU, the 15 people in the 2K-ICU South or the combined 40 people. This contribution can range from $350 to $600, depending on the meals chosen. Every single dollar counts; click here to make a donation.

Order one of Copperhead Grille's predesignated care packages and they will deliver it to the Lehigh Valley first responders of your choice. Feed 20 for $200, feed 30 for $300 and feed 40 for $400. The menu is subject to change, but will typically include an appetizer, a salad, a sandwich and a side. Click here for more information.
