Top Holiday Experiences in the Lehigh Valley This Week
1. Indiemade Craft Market
Craft markets are the absolute best places for holiday gifts, in our opinion. Not only are you supporting a small business and more than likely a local maker, you’re also getting one-of-a-kind, handcrafted merchandise. With all of that being said, we had to share this Indiemade Craft Market coming up tomorrow Saturday, December 4 at the Fearless Fire Company in Allentown. Makers from all over the country will be selling their wares from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. And don’t be fooled, this isn’t your average craft fair. There will be live demos, DIY crafts, food and a cash bar, holiday photo-ops, a DJ and more. Tickets are only $3 and you get a swag bag. Head over to their website or Instagram for all of the holiday shopping details.
2. A Country Christmas at Hausman's Fruit Farm
Starting off this weekend from Friday–Sunday and occurring next Saturday, December 10–12, you can head to Hausman’s Fruit Farm for a traditional Christmas on the farm experience. You’ll get to experience hayrides through the orchard, photos with Santa, a campfire & s’mores, a train display, hot apple dumplings and hot cocoa. They’ll even be showing a variety of Christmas movies on the side of the barn as well as a visit from Santa’s reindeer this Sunday only. Get all of the details here.
3. Lights in the Parkway Party Bus Tour
For those of you looking to make your lights in the parkway experience just a little bit more lit, check out City Center Allentown’s party bus tour to Lights in the Parkway happening throughout the month of December. In partnership with Blended by Brü Daddy’s and Mishka Vodka, for $25 you’ll catch the party bus at Blended where you’ll be given two Mishka Vodka drink pouches to enjoy on the trip to experience the lights. Once back at Blended (or before you leave), you can show your confirmation email for the party bus to receive a buy one drink, get one free drink offer from the restaurant. Grab your tickets here and enjoy the ride.
4. Christmas in the Country Trail
If you’re looking for a little road trip to a fun destination outside of the Valley, may we suggest the Christmas in the Country Trail in Belvidere, NJ (about a 40-minute drive from Downtown Bethlehem). The trail includes a visit to two family-owned farm destinations that are four minutes apart from each other. You can start at Mackey’s Orchard for their homemade apple desserts, homemade soups, ciders and hot cocoa, visit with Santa or shop their poinsettias, wreaths and additional holiday decorations. Once you wrap up that trip, head four minutes down the road to Four Sisters Winery for complimentary wine tastings and cellar tours, holiday gift baskets and more than 20 varieties of wine for sale. Note: if you collect a sticker from each farm, you can enter to win a $200 gift certificate, and if you spend $5 at each location, you receive a pair of Christmas in the Country embossed wine glasses. For directions and details, check out their website. And if you’d like to add another stop to your trail, right down the road is Wycoff’s Christmas Tree Farm where you’ll find a variety of colored Christmas trees in shades of pink, purple, dark blue, red, black or white.
5. Old Time Christmas
For those looking for a traditional, low key and heartwarming Christmas experience, look no further than Quiet Valley Historical Farm in Stroudsburg. Happening both this weekend and next, this hour-long tour includes a guided candlelight tour to enjoy an 1800’s Christmas experience. There will be historical stories at the bonfire, a Christmas putz in the Victorian parlor, a live Nativity in the barn as well as light refreshments and the opportunity to peruse the holiday gift shop. Tickets can be purchased for $12 here.
